Michael Jean is retiring from TVA

Michael Jean retired from journalism. The anchor will anchor his last newscast on TVA and LCN on Friday.


Michael Jean is bowing out to continue his career as a writer, we learn from a press release from the broadcaster issued Wednesday. This fall, he will be one of the contributors to the radio show There will always be cultureHosted by Emily Perrault at ICI Premiere.

Michael Jean began his journalism journey in 1986 in Sorrel. After working at the Radio-Nord network in Rouyn-Noranda, he joined Radio-Canada with a bachelor’s degree in history and sociology. In 1995, he became a presenter Quebec Live At RDI, then National Correspondent Téléjournal/Le Point In 2002.

Michael Jean came to TVA in 2005 as co-anchor of the Public Affairs program IS With Annie Gagnon. He later held various roles at TVA and LCN news bulletins. For three years, he ruled TVA News Midi during the week.
