Russia’s Investigative Committee has officially confirmed reports that Ukrainian forces have destroyed the third bridge over the Sigma River in Kursk Oblast, Reuters reported. According to Ukrainian media, Russian forces may now “find themselves in a cauldron.”
As Reuters wrote, the famous propaganda presenter Vladimir Solovyov posted a recording on Telegram in which a representative of the Investigative Committee confirms that Ukrainians struck and destroyed the third bridge over the Sigma River in the Kursk region.
Pro-Kremlin journalist Vladimir Romanov also reported earlier that the bridge near the village of Karez had been destroyed. He did not provide any details.
“The enemy has completed the last bridge over the Sejm River,” Yuriy Podolaka, a well-known blogger in Russia, wrote on Telegram. He said that Russian forces are currently using a pontoon crossing, which he said is “quite sufficient for effective actions aimed at repelling attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.”
Romanov and Podolaki’s interventions were reported by independent Russian-language media, including Meduza and The Moscow Times.

cut off supply routes
The independent Russian Telegram channel Astra assessed the situation differently, writing that “by destroying the last bridge over the Sejm River, the Ukrainians cut off the Russian army group in the Głuków area from supply routes.” “Just yesterday (Sunday – ed.) civilians in this area had to evacuate by boats due to the destroyed bridges,” Astra said.
“If the information about the destruction of the third bridge is confirmed, the Russian Armed Forces units located to the south will be in the cauldron, and the approximate area of the encirclement will be about 700 square kilometers,” the Ukrainian website said. The editor-in-chief of this site is the famous military expert Yuriy Butusov.
“Objectively, it is not very difficult for the Russian military to build a floating crossing across the Sigma, the width of which in this area ranges from 30 to 80 meters. Another thing is that the floating crossing is a bottleneck in any logistics,” the Ukrainian military portal Rapid Defense said.
Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Olchuk announced on Sunday that the second bridge over the Sigma River in the village of Zhvanoe had been blown up. Reports of the first bridge being destroyed emerged two days earlier.
