On QUB Radio and 99.5: Isabelle Marechal “very happy” to return to FM

Tackling social issues, giving listeners a platform and demystifying subjects that affect the middle class: these are some of the pillars that define Isabelle Marechal’s morning show, which will air on QUB Radio on 99.5 FM from August 26.

With an enviable background in radio, the former presenter at 98.5 FM was a logical choice to run the mid-morning show and succeed Mario Dumont in this revamped schedule. He fulfilled the same mandate, taking the torch from Paul Arcand every morning from 2004 to 2021, Monday through Friday, at the microphone of Gogeco Media.

“I’m very happy, happy, happy to be back in the FM band,” he says in a phone interview. “I find it very exciting and inspiring. What I always like about my mid-morning slot is that I have free reign. I always appreciate this freedom from the radio medium, but also from this time slot. People are a little more quiet, a little more long, a little more in-depth interviews. They are ready to listen.

Isabelle Marechal is also impatient with the idea of ​​connecting directly with the public. Since the pandemic, although he has collaborated as a columnist on QUB and produced several documentary series, he has had the opportunity to chat with his listeners “in the grocery aisles or on the street.”
