Widow’s Pension. How long must a marriage last to receive benefits?

The provisions on widows’ pensions have been approved and signed by the President. They will enter into force in the country on January 1, 2025, and the first benefits will be paid in July 2025.

Who benefits from widow’s pension?

The right to a widow’s pension will be available to people whose spouse died five years before they reached retirement age. That is, women aged 55 or over or men aged 60 or over.

However, the widow’s pension is not paid for life. If the person receiving the benefit marries again, payments will stop on the day before the wedding day.
