The June festival in Opole ended in a small scandal. And all because of a little understandable oversight. The legendary singer Halina Frackowiak was not invited to the concert dedicated to the memory of Janusz Kondratowicz. It was she who sang the wonderful songs written by Kondratowicz, such as “Dancing Queen”, “Anna Doesn’t Live Here” or “Paper Moon”.
— I don’t know why I’m not there, you have to ask the organizers and those who decided the artists. But Janusz is in my heart and will always be. I’ve always said that he wrote my life story beautifully in his songs. I won’t be there, but I carry it in my heart, and I have done that since 1971, and it’s my entire artistic life. “Paper Moon,” which is a very important song to me, is his gift. All these years were a beautiful period not only of cooperation, but also of friendship with Janusz. “It’s a very elegant and tactful thing,” Halina Frakowiak, known for her elegance and grace, told Fact at the time.
