The head of the National Tax Administration, Magdalena Rzekowska, announced on Wednesday that this is the last moment for carriers to adapt to the new payment system. Passenger car drivers should also prepare for the changes. On December 1, the gates on state highways will disappear.
The President of KAS said during Wednesday’s conference that the old viaTOLL toll collection system will be extinguished on Thursday, and as of October 1, e-TOLL will be the only system that enables the payment of toll roads that were viaTOLL in effect.
e-TOLL is a modern solution based on satellite positioning technology. It enables comprehensive online service without the need to visit a customer service center and sign a contract. System solutions allow users to easily view the history of fees and manage their accounts, and also make it possible to choose a device for transmitting geolocation data – Rzekozka noted.
At this stage, this means, first of all, changing the toll collection system for cars with a maximum permissible weight of more than 3.5 tons, as well as for buses, regardless of their permissible total weight.
e-TOLL – Since when
She recalled that KAS provided the transportation industry with a transition period of 3 months, when two systems would operate simultaneously. She also indicated that the office is constantly trying to support entrepreneurs in adapting to change. – This is the tax credit for equipping vehicles with OBU/ZSL devices and reduced rates in e-TOLL. She added that passenger car drivers can still pay for highway trips manually, but we are also encouraging them to use the new system.
It reminded that until October 1, existing users of the old viaTOLL system must use the e-TOLL PL mobile app or on-board e-TOLL compatible devices.
She also indicated that you should unregister from the old system. This can be done before and after September 30th. It added that users have until September 30, 2022 to retrieve the deposit for the internal unit (the so-called OBU / viaBOX) and transfer the funds from the viaTOLL account. After this date, the money will be transferred to the National Road Fund.
e-TOLL – Registration
The e-TOLL system has been in operation since June 24. Allows you to pay for trips of heavy and light vehicles. The system covers the toll road network for heavy vehicles with a length of about 3700 km. On highway sections operated by GDDKiA, such as A2 Konin – Stryków and A4 Wrocław – Sośnica, the e-TOLL system can also be used by users of light vehicles (passenger cars and motorcycles).
As noted in the KAS version, more than 557,000 have been registered to the new system. vehicles. It was also recalled that registration in the e-TOLL system is possible both online at etoll.gov.pl and in the fixed network of customer service points, as well as through the selected fleet card supplier.
It was pointed out that when using satellite positioning technology, the e-TOLL system is open to various GPS devices, and carriers can choose a device tailored to their needs, such as: OBU (On-Board Unit), External Location System (ZSL), i.e. built-in The vehicle’s GPS module, as well as the e-TOLL PL mobile app.
It has been added that the e-TOLL PL mobile application can be downloaded for free from Google Play and the App Store. It was pointed out that the number of downloads of these applications exceeded 216,000.
Motorways A2 and A4 – tolls for passenger cars and motorbikes
KAS also informed that users of passenger cars and motorcycles can use the manual method of toll collection (gate) until November 30. Then the manual system will be turned off, and on the state highways, A2 Konin – Stryków and A4 Wrocław – Sośnica, the flight will take place in “free flow” mode, without stopping in front of the gates.
