Google search engine no longer supports Internet Explorer 11. For Windows 10 users, this won’t be a problem

In the eyes of many, Google is a rather unpredictable service provider who often surprises with decisions about the upcoming closure of specific projects without prior clear indications. However, the main services of the company, such as the search engine, are slightly different. The said product is even compatible with Internet Explorer 11. This is so surprising that Microsoft intends to actually end the program in June of next year. Given the upcoming change, it should come as no surprise that Google will soon disable support for IE 11. But that does not mean that users of this solution will not be able to use the US company’s search engine.

Internet Explorer 11 users will soon no longer be able to use most of Google’s search features. Upgrading to Windows 11 may be the solution.

For years, Microsoft has been a kind of standard in the world of web browsers. Although the product will be “beaten” by the creators themselves in mid-June 2022, some companies are still using applications created for this specific platform. Moving to new solutions, even the most popular Google Chrome browser, will soon not be a big option, but a necessity. IE 11 will not appear in the upcoming Windows 10 update, as we will not find the “Explorer” pre-installed. The old browser will be replaced by Microsoft Edge, which has come a long way since it was first introduced in 2013 (with Windows 8.1).

To be precise, IE in Windows 10 is only conditionally provided to ensure compatibility with some tools. More support for Google search in Microsoft Internet Explorer is simply unpaid due to the small number of users of the program. Of course, Google will not block access to the search tool, but it will work in basic mode. Simple queries consisting of specific statements – this is what will be limited to the users, and from whom the basic results will be returned.

As a web developer, this is one of the happiest announcements in a while: Google Search has ended support for IE11 in its flagship product (you can still search but you’ll get a backup experience). I mostly post this so you can send it to your boss. We did the math. It’s time.
