The children who were baptized in a private ceremony in Windsor are August Philip Hooke, son of Princess Eugenia and James Brooksbank, born in February, and Lucas Philip, son of Zara and Mike Tindall, born in March.
For the first couple, the first child is the second – the third. They are the ninth and tenth, respectively, of the British monarch’s twelve great-grandchildren. After them this year, two more were born – the daughter of Prince Harry and Princess Meghan – Lillipet Diana, and the daughter of Princess Beatrice and Eduardo Mapelli Mozzi – Sienna.
Participate in the christening only the closest family and friends. According to British media, the attendees were among others, Eugenia’s father, Prince Andrew, and the Queen’s grandson Prince William with Princess Kate.
It was uncertain whether the Queen would participate in the baptism or not due to concerns about her health that have surfaced in recent weeks.
After an intense schedule in the first half of October, the 95-year-old was recommended by doctors to rest for four weeks, during which time she had to cancel a series of announced events. A week earlier, Elizabeth II was supposed to attend a memorial service on Sunday, when fallen soldiers were honoured, but just before they began, it was announced that due to a back injury, the Queen would not be present.
However, on Wednesday the Queen received General Nick Carter, who was soon to leave the position of commander-in-chief. It was the Queen’s first event in a month that Buckingham Palace donated a video.
