An audience member at a rock concert in Buffalo, New York, was left paralyzed after being attacked by the singer of a crowd surfing band.
Baird Piche, a 24-year-old American woman, suffered severe spinal cord injuries and was unable to move, the channel reported. WGRZ.
The incident that took her away this summer occurred on April 30 during a concert by the band Trophy Eyes at Mohawks Place in Buffalo.
During a performance on stage, the lead singer of the Australian band John Florence jumped into the crowd, causing them to carry him at arm’s length. Unfortunately, he also collided head-on with a bird bitche and then fell to the ground.
Other audience members saw the young woman motionless and told her to stop the concert.
“She didn’t wake up, John, the singer, stayed with her,” testified the visitor’s friend, Leo Wolter Tejera.
Bird Piche was taken to the hospital by ambulance, along with the group’s singer. He underwent emergency surgery and remains hospitalized indefinitely.
According to Leo Wolter Tejera, doctors don’t know if the young woman will regain use of her limbs and the rest of her body or if she will be paralyzed for life.
The Trophy Eyes team said they were “shocked to the core” by the accident and hope Bird Piché makes a speedy recovery. The music group said they are in direct contact with Baird Picchey’s family and want to help the young woman through her difficult times.
A crowdfunding campaign has been launched on the GoFundMe platform for Bird Piché and his family to pay for all medical expenses. Trophy Ice also contributed $5,000.
