A movie with stars shot in Bielsko-Biała will not go to cinemas.  An unexpected addition to the contract

The romantic comedy “Uwierz w Mikołaja”, which was filmed in Bielsko-Biała at the beginning of this year, will not be shown in cinemas. The movie will only be shown once on the big screen and after that it will only be available on the streaming service. According to our portal, the premiere of the film in which we will see M. Bielsko Old Town and Railway Station is scheduled for December 6th. The local Bielsko government co-financed the production.

“Uwierz w Mikołaja” is a film based on the best-selling book by Magdalena Witkiewicz under the same title. The screenplay was written by Ilona Cipkowska, who was looking for a picturesque mountain town to set the plot. Many well-known and respected actors will appear in the film, for example Teresa Lipowska, Dorota Staliaska, Marta Lipinska, Maciej Damiecki, Bohdan Dazuka, Agnieszka Wojduca, Anthony Pawlicki, Mateusz Janicki and Cesary Schack.

The only show on the big screen

The movie was shot at the beginning of the year. in Milówka, Goczałkowice-Zdrój and Bielsko-Biała, where scenes were filmed at the railway station and in the picturesque setting of the Old Town. The creators announced the premiere of the comedy for October, but for several weeks it was in vain to search for information when the film will be released in cinemas. As determined by our portal, the official premiere will take place on December 5 at the Helios Cinema at the Blue City Gallery in Warsaw.

The first and last screening of the film will be on the big screen – Bielsko officials, led by the city’s mayor, Jaroslav Klimazzewski, will attend the event. The next day after the premiere, the movie will go to the streaming service and only in this way will you be able to watch it. It also turned out that the local government participated in financing the production. The contract to promote the city in the movie “Uwierz w Mikołaja” was concluded at the beginning of the year and amounted to PLN 180,000. zlotys. In recent weeks, it had to be attached due to a change in the way the film was distributed.

City promotion contract

Under this contract, the local government set the plot of the film in Bielsko-Biała and specified the name of the town in at least two scenes. The contract includes a whole range of activities promoting the city, including preparation and ensuring the publication on social media channels of the creators, the author of the novel and the actors involved in the filming in Bielsko-Biała by publishing materials informing about the location of the filming.

The office also ensured promotion of the city in the venues advertising the film’s premiere, including photos taken outdoors in Bielsko in the official promotional advertisement for the production, placement of the logo and a thank you to the city for helping to produce the film. Movie. The contract includes provisions on organizing and coordinating visits to the shooting location by local journalists and photojournalists. The city itself has also secured five double invitations to the gala premiere of the film, which – as we have already announced – will take place in Warsaw.

It must be emphasized that Bielsko-Biaa is being promoted in the movie as a tourism product, but also in terms of its image. The market square and the surrounding area as well as the inscription, the “Bielsko-Biala” plaque above the entrance to the main railway station – these are the most visible elements – officials add.
