The Walbrzych Special Economic Zone “Invest-Park” announced on social media another major investment in Lower Silesia. As can be read in the official announcement, on December 12, an agreement was signed on the sale of land for the Mercedes electric car factory. It will be the first European production plant specialized in producing vehicles based on the new VAN.EA platform.
The plant is planned to be built in Jawor near Legnica, in the immediate vicinity of the existing Mercedes engine and electric battery factories. This means that the facility will partly use the infrastructure already in place since 2020. The investment is worth more than one billion euros, and the money will be allocated not only to build the plant, but also to develop competencies in the field of electric mobility for its employees.

As we read in the announcement, this is undoubtedly great news for the people of Gower and the surrounding area, which will translate into an increase in the attractiveness of the area for highly qualified job candidates.
Ultimately, the Mercedes factory will create 1,500 new jobs. The German manufacturer already employs more than 1,300 people at other factories in Invest Park.
As the industrial sites indicate – in the future, in addition to the production of zero-emission Mercedes delivery vehicles, there is the possibility of producing vehicles for the American brand Rivian in Gower. If any decisions are taken on this matter, it could mean a huge opportunity for the development of the entire region.
