Accident in Tarnów. Scenes like from an action movie. Gas and brake confused – O2

An unusual situation occurred on Thursday evening at a gas station on Braci Saków Street in Tarnów (Małopolskie Voivodeship). The passenger BMW driver suddenly collided with the vehicle’s diffuser, setting the instrumentation and vehicle on fire.

Up to 10 firefighters and police immediately intervened. After an extensive firefighting operation, the firefighters were finally able to gain control of the item, but the distributors and the vehicle were completely destroyed.

The man first tried to explain that the brakes in the car were clogged, and then mistook the accelerator pedal as a brake – Bawik Klimek, press officer at the municipal police headquarters in Tarnow, told TVN24.

The driver was tested with a breathalyzer. As it turned out, he had 1.5 for every mile of alcohol in his body. His teenage son traveled with him in the car. The men managed to get out of the destroyed car on their own. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured as a result of the accident.

The 47-year-old will be charged with destroying or damaging another person’s property and driving while under the influence. In total, he can face up to 7 years in prison.

The accident scene was recorded by a driver passing by before the fire was put out. The situation was really terrifying.
