The Sept-Iles Improv League's exceptional season came to an end Thursday. The show is still popular and the audience is growing. The season goes into overtime on Thursday, April 25, thanks to 40e North Shore Book Fair.

The Little Theater at the Sept-Îles community-entertainment center is often filled to capacity, notes the head of the La Patente theater group, which has run the LIS for nearly 15 years. Benny Frederick attributes the success of the Chambers League to public renewal, access to cultural activities and risqué humor at the heart of uplifting evenings.

LIS adapts to different themes as needed. It will be done on Thursday as part of the program for 40e North Shore Book Fair. Players from the September-Isles Improvisation League will play alongside writers and comedians Ghislaine Tacchereau and Alex Levesque.

Summer Theatre

The Improv League has become La Patente's main winter activity for the group. Many tournaments form the outdoor season involving Sept-Iles or local teams. During the summer, the group focuses on a play presented for six weeks.

La Patente is working on the production of “Baby on Board”, a comedy about couple relationships. Four local actors are producing a summer theater production directed by Marie-Claude Dubé.
