A moving scene in which a flight attendant is heard announcing over the plane's intercom that a man has recovered from cancer has sparked a lot of reactions on social media.
Hayley Lovell left a note for the employee before they left for Jamaica before sharing pictures of her husband on her TikTok account.
The 22-year-old Torontonian held her husband's hand tenderly during the Jan. 6 announcement.
“A young man named Josh was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in June 2020. Since then, he has undergone chemo and radiation treatments as well as surgeries to remove his right lung, thymus and pericardium. And part of his diaphragm,” she said over the intercom.
“He made frequent trips to the hospital over the years and was on life support twice. He fought for his life and is now fully recovered. Today he is going on his honeymoon in Jamaica,” the flight attendant continued, prompting thunderous applause on the plane.
Haley Louvelle said in an interview with the magazine People Josh's honeymoon was postponed three times due to his treatments.
The video has been viewed 405,000 times.
