AMD Ryzen 5 7600 Processor Test - The Cheapest Six-Core Zen 4 Processor. Finally, Good Performance at a Reasonable Price?AMD Ryzen 5 7600, AMD Ryzen 7 7700 and AMD Ryzen 9 7900 are new processors whose main task is to increase sales of the AM5 platform. The AMD Ryzen 7000 family is not as popular as its predecessors, so at the beginning of 2023 the manufacturer decided to enrich the offer. More recently, cheaper motherboards have appeared, but now weaker processors have appeared, which, however, differ only slightly from the versions marked with the letter X. A knowledgeable user will quickly restore the factory low performance, so here at least the profitability of the purchase will improve significantly. Today we will check it with a benchmark AMD Ryzen 5 7600 – the cheapest processor for the AM5 platform.

Treatments AMD Ryzen 7000 Codenamed Raphael represents the next step in the development of the Zen architecture, introducing the new AM5 (LGA1718) platform with support for DDR5 and PCI-Express 5.0 standards. The cores are made in a 5 nm process (previously 7 nm), while the I/O containing the remaining elements uses 6 nm (previously 12 nm) lithography. Another fundamental change is the addition of an integrated Radeon graphics chip based on the RDNA 2 architecture, which its predecessors were completely denied except for the G / PRO series. However, the architecture of the processors themselves has not undergone significant changes – CCD modules with as many as eight cores are still used, and everything is connected by an internal Infinity Fabric bus. There are also separate RAM, IMC and IF clock bands, but concurrent mode (1:1) would be possible even with DDR5-6000 MHz (Intel Alder LLC You need 1:2 here). AMD reports an additional 30% increase in IPC over its predecessors due to a front-end rebuild, command queue expansion, L2 cache doubling, and improved FP32 operations, decoders, and AVX-512 instructions. High clock speeds of up to 5850MHz on a single core (at appropriate temperatures) also do a lot to improve performance.

The AMD Ryzen 5 7600 is a slightly cheaper and weaker version of the Ryzen 5 7600X, but the difference is only in the timings, which can be quickly equalized thanks to the unlocked multiplier.

The difference between the AMD Ryzen 5 7600 and the Ryzen 5 7600X is cosmetic and only comes down to base clocking, but thanks to the unlocked multiplier, you can quickly restore factory cut performance. It was not then even necessary to change the supply voltage, since in both cases it was almost identical, it was enough to manually set the appropriate multipliers. Like its older brothers, the described AMD Ryzen 5 7600 uses a single CCD module with six physical cores, while SMT technology provides support for twelve threads at once. The processor also has 32MB of L3 cache, the capacity of which is directly related to the use of a single CCD module. After all, the Ryzen 5 family configuration has remained unchanged since the model days 1600/1600XWhere the competition has made significant progress in the same period with the help of E-Cores and hybrid architecture, which is implemented by cheaper processors belonging to the Intel Core 13 GEN family. Here, AMD Ryzen 5 7600 will soon meet a worthy opponent.

What is AMD Ryzen 7950X CPU RAM? G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB 6000MHz CL30 DDR5 Kit

Returning to the previously mentioned timings, which are the only discrepancies in the AMD Ryzen 5 7600 and Ryzen 7600X specs, it looks like this – 4950/5150 and 5300-5500MHz. The difference is thus 350 MHz in the case of single and multi-threaded loads, although the final frequencies also depend on the cooling used. The dual-channel DDR5-5200 MHz RAM controller, support for the PCI-Express 5.0 interface and the integrated graphics system based on the RDNA2 architecture, placed in a separate I / O unit with other controllers, remain unchanged. The starting price of the AMD Ryzen 5 7600 is much nicer, because instead of $ 299 we will pay $ 229, which in theory is the opportunity to get this processor for about 1000 PLN. The main opponent will be AMD Ryzen 5 7600 Intel Core i5-12400F, noticeably cheaper than the hero of this review, but in a moment there will be a more powerful Intel Core i5-13400F processor, which has added efficient cores. However, along with the performance, the price of the competitor will increase, so in the end the AMD Ryzen 5 7600 should be somewhere in between …
