Earlier this week, AMD revealed some new information about its Ryzen 7000 processors from the Raphael family, as well as motherboards with the X670E (Extreme), X670 and B650 chipsets, which will debut this fall. After the presentation at Computex, there were many doubts about the maximum TDP for individual modules based on the Zen 4 microarchitecture. Finally, AMD confirmed that the next generation will again use 16 cores and 32 threads maximum. The case with the integrated RDNA 2 graphics chip is also interesting. According to AMD’s announcement, all Ryzen 7000 processors will now offer iGPUs.
AMD has confirmed that the best Ryzen 7000 processors will be equipped with 16 cores and 32 threads, and that the TDP will be 170W.
The AMD Ryzen 7000 processor shown at Computex achieved a clock speed of 5.5GHz without overclocking
Zen 4 . info Featured in TechPowerUpwho interviewed Robert Hallock of AMD. In addition to processors with standard TDPs such as 65 watts and 105 watts, there will be higher units with a TDP of 170 watts equipped with 16 cores and 32 threads – so these will be systems that offer two full blocks of CCD. In turn, the integrated RDNA 2 graphics chip will be integrated into the I / O block and available to all Zen 4 processors. Its multimedia capabilities will be similar to other RDNA 2 chips, which means, among other things, support for AV1 and HEVC codecs. The manufacturer also clearly stated that there is no support for DDR4 memory regardless of the type of chipset – they will all work only with DDR5 modules.

AMD also plans to make more use of 3D V-Cache encapsulation technology in future Zen 4 microarchitecture-based processors. Initially, these chips will not be available, but we believe such a design will be revealed next year. AMD also confirmed that neural network tasks will use AVX512 VNNI instructions, while inference tasks will use AVX512 BLOAT16 instructions. AI will be greatly expanded with Ryzen 7000 processors, but we’ll know more details in the summer when the proper rendering of Zen 4 systems comes along. Then AMD will also focus on a more detailed presentation of performance and discuss the increase in IPC in relation to the Zen 3 microarchitecture. Work on the systems is ongoing, so by the time of release, the final results may still be improving.
