AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5975WX - Zen 3 Chagall 32-core processor tested on GeekBenchAMD’s latest processor architecture is Zen 3, which debuted in 2020. So far, Zen 3 has gone for Ryzen 5000 Vermeer desktop processors, EPYC 7003 Milan server chips, and Cezanne Ryzen 5000G/5000H/5000U APU) for desktop and laptop computers. The only series of processors in which the Zen 3 architecture has not yet appeared are the HEDT Ryzen Threadripper chips. A few weeks ago, there were reports of a delay in the release of AMD HEDT processors. We’ll have to wait for the new Threadrippers until the beginning of 2022, most likely CES in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, a new entry for the AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5975WX processor has appeared at the base of the popular GeekBench software.

In the GeekBench benchmark database, there is an entry for the HEDT AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5975WX 32-core processor. The Zen 3 of the Chagall family delivered significantly better results than its predecessor, the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3975WX.

The AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5975WX processor is sure to be one of the most efficient next-generation HEDT processors from the manufacturer. It is a 32-core module that supports up to 64 threads simultaneously. The processor appeared in the GeekBench database, so we can see how it compares to its predecessors. It is worth noting that the HEDT chip was tested on the reference AMD platform with Linux, as well as 128 GB of DDR4 RAM clocked at 3200MHz. The processor’s reported base clock is 3.6GHz, while in Turbo mode it’s around 4532MHz (at least that’s what the benchmark records indicate).

AMD Rembrandt – First results for next-generation CPU performance based on Zen3+ architecture at 6nm lithography

In the single-thread test, the new Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5975WX scored 1,686 points, significantly higher than the previous generation Threadripper, but based on the Zen 2 architecture (about 1,300-1350 points). The performance boost is pretty close to what we saw when switching from Ryzen 3000 to Ryzen 5000 in the Vermeer consumer series. In terms of single-thread performance, the new AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5975WX is not only more efficient than its direct predecessor, the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3975WX, but also the flagship Threadripper PRO 3995WX. When it comes to multi-threaded performance, the new HEDT chip scores 27,603 points. This is definitely not a bad result, especially since we are not dealing with the final version of the processor. For comparison, the best PRO 3975WX Threadrippers scored more than 30,000 points in the same test. However, we are convinced that store copies will easily exceed this score.
