“We have decided that the best solution for our company is to suspend operations in Russia and Belarus until further notice. Due to the current situation, we cannot and should not continue our activities there. We regret the huge impact this decision has had on our loyal and dedicated employees in these markets,” says David Briggs, President of Velux Group.
The group confirms that “IT systems have been shut down, all financial transactions have been suspended, and all employees in these countries have been sent home.”
In Russia, the Danish group has been active since 1991 and has employed more than 60 people there. The company has been operating in Belarus for two decades and employs only 6 people.
On February 24, the company also suspended its operations in Ukraine.
“About 100 Ukrainians work at Velux companies in Poland, most of them at the Namysłów plant. The company’s management is working and announces that it is doing everything possible to help them, especially in bringing families of employees to Poland” – reads the company’s press release.
Velux is a company based in Hørsholm, Denmark. We mainly specialize in the production of skylights, roller blinds and blinds.

Echo Richards embodies a personality that is a delightful contradiction: a humble musicaholic who never brags about her expansive knowledge of both classic and contemporary tunes. Infuriatingly modest, one would never know from a mere conversation how deeply entrenched she is in the world of music. This passion seamlessly translates into her problem-solving skills, with Echo often drawing inspiration from melodies and rhythms. A voracious reader, she dives deep into literature, using stories to influence her own hardcore writing. Her spirited advocacy for alcohol isn’t about mere indulgence, but about celebrating life’s poignant moments.
