What is worth knowing about the recommended PC for PLN 5000?
Don’t overpay for a processor with the same performance
The amount of PLN 5000 allows in practice a little more flexibility when choosing components. We can turn here to the more expensive Intel Core i5-12400F, which also requires a more expensive motherboard, but for now it will not imply a huge difference in performance compared to the Ryzen 5600, which was also chosen a month ago – the same number of cores and threads It has slightly worse performance than a single core, which you can basically compensate for with the unlocked multiplier on AMD processors. The Intel Core i5-13400F should have changed the situation here, but at the price of PLN 1100 there is nothing to look for in our listings.
After the premiere of the new generation of AMD Ryzen 7000 processors, the previous series has lowered its price tag very well.
In combination with the processor, we get very efficient and not as loud as in the case of Intel processors, air cooling. This is an item that could be replaced in the future, but for starters, it could still be on this factory version. The motherboard we chose this time was the Gigabyte B550M DS3H – a model with the same functionality, but less visually appealing than the Gigabyte B550M Aorus Elite, which was chosen a month earlier. It provides a decent set of connectors (including 4 USB 3.2 10Gbps) and the ability to expand RAM and disk space (also by adding another M.2 disk).
Cooling the power section will allow for more stable operation under full load.

Another problem is the choice of graphics card. The model we’re referring to is one of the cheapest variants available with the RTX 3070 system. Paying extra for more cooling would increase the work culture a bit, but in our case there wasn’t room for that in the budget. This model gets bonus points for matching the manufacturer to the motherboard. If you are looking for savings, the recently launched RTX 3060 Ti with GDDR6X memory could be an alternative here. We tested it in December and it turned out to be slightly (10%) lower than the RTX 3070 in this group, while being a significantly cheaper offering.
The RTX 3070 is already a part where cooling plays a rather important role — it’s worth paying extra for a slightly better model, but sometimes you’ll have to stop at one like the ASUS Dual.
The RTX 3070 itself is the fastest card of the RTX 3000 family, using GDDR6 memory, which is 8GB. The manufacturer does not overclock this version of the card, but in general, the RTX 3070 graphics cards are known for their great overclocking potential. It’s worth noting that 8GB of vRAM is the optimal amount of vRAM for FHD or QHD playback, though in the latter case you’ll usually need the help of DLSS.

And what is this DLSS? – you will ask. Well, this function increases performance without any visible loss of image quality (and in the “Quality” mode it is even improved in some places). We will also have DLAA at our disposal, which works quite similarly, but focuses on improving image quality without increasing performance. Ultimately, in select e-sports games, NVIDIA Reflex technology will reduce screen latency.
It’s hard to ignore the gaming advantage of NVIDIA’s additional features in its mid-to-high-end graphics card segment.
All of the above (plus the NVIDIA Broadcast app, which will allow us to improve broadcast quality using the hardware camera and microphone, if we decide to do so) distinguishes the NVIDIA GPU card in this segment from the competition from AMD. So is performance in games that support Ray Tracing, with the RTX 3070 often competing with the fastest Radeons.
RAM and SSD are in a reasonable range
Admittedly, an SSD isn’t critically important to a gamer, but remember that a gamer is also a human and uses the computer outside of gaming, so choosing a cheaper SSD isn’t a good option. The tweak from our offer uses a new controller that allows you to use RAM, which significantly speeds up the processes performed by the system (and games). It also uses TLC chips, which means less speed drop when full than cheaper options with QLC memory. The only thing that can be changed here is its capacity, but this is a matter of individual preferences. A nice change and improvement over combos from previous months is the larger capacity—SSDs are now so cheap that we can afford to pay extra for a 1TB model—and that’s enough for the system, apps (including updates), and even a dozen big games.

In contrast, the 16GB of GoodRAM (a binary that scrolls through most PCs recommended for February 2023) will allow you to use the computer for stress-free gaming and streaming. Granted, Ryzen wouldn’t ignore a slightly faster clock speed, but it’s not critical. However, if you have a slightly higher amount at your disposal, then it’s worth paying extra for it (for example, for RAM with a clock speed of 3600 MHz).
Well-ventilated housing with such performance is essential, as is a robust power supply
Already in the recommended computer set for PLN 4,000, we drew your attention to the need to ensure good air circulation in the housing, so once again the choice of the proven Genesis IRID 503 ARGB should come as no surprise. Since we chose a not very large (physically) graphics card and an mATX motherboard, it would still be the perfect choice, especially in terms of price. Four pre-installed 120mm fans in this case ensure excellent air circulation, and at the same time beautifully illuminate the entire case.
The choice of accommodation is largely a matter of taste, but good air circulation must be considered in this part.
The last, but not the least important element, the power supply, was also chosen taking into account the compact size of the entire set, which is why it is a model with modular cables. This means that unused cables from the drive discs and redundant cables to power the graphics card can be left in the cardboard box, rather than making it difficult to keep the case tidy (and allow airflow). Its 600W power will perfectly satisfy all the components, although in this case it is unlikely to replace the card with a top-end model in the future (only the equivalent of the 250W RTX 3070 of new generations).
