In Paris, we heard the Polish anthem only once, after the timed climb, which Miroslav won. After the Games, the head of Profbud, Paweł Malinowski, came up with an initiative to provide apartments for three silver medalists. Pikulik won second place in the all-around track cycling (omnium), Zwolińska in the slalom kayak (K-1), and Szeremeta in the boxing up to 57 kg category.
— We are very proud of Aleksandra Miroslav’s achievements during this year’s Games – winning the gold medal, breaking the world record and the Olympic record. This is a truly impressive result – says Pawel Malinowski, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Profbud Group.
– We all know how much work and effort the Polish representatives put in even to these Olympic Games, let alone to get a place on the podium. We are even more grateful to Klaudia Zvolenska, Julia Szeremeta and Daria Pikulik for their silver medals. These young talented athletes gave us an exceptional display of courage and determination, awakened the spirit of sport in the heart of probably every Pole, and we are very grateful to them for that. As a token of this gratitude, with pride and joy, we would like to provide the vice-Olympic champions from Paris with new apartments – adds Malinowski.
Zwolińska and Szeremeta learned about the apartment handover in person when they visited the developer’s office on Monday, August 12. Pikolik is currently in the Netherlands, where he is competing in the women’s Tour de France.
— Before the games, I had a lot of questions about the prizes. I have no financial motivation at all. I’m not saying it’s bad, but if someone asked me if I wanted an Olympic medal and I wouldn’t get a penny for it, I would definitely agree. Zwolinska tells uswho admits that she thought after the competition in a flat that was not far away (as it seemed at the time). Exactly 1.45 seconds.
“I really wanted to jump Jessica Fox. Then I watched our rounds and saw that she was shaking a little bit because she knew I could threaten her. It was close to gold, but don’t worry, there’s still Los Angeles,” the boatman smiles.
Players will be able to use the apartments as they please, i.e. use them personally, rent them out, or even sell them. Leroy Merlin will take care of finishing the apartments.
The runner-up is also entitled to PLN 200,000, as previously agreed. They and Miroslav will also receive a diamond from ATT Investments, a painting from Art in House Auction House and a holiday voucher from the travel agency Itaka.
The silver medalists of the men’s volleyball team championship will receive PLN 1.5 million, each a diamond, a plaque and a holiday voucher. The bronze medalists (rowers, fencers, Aleksandra Kaluka, Iga Swiatek and Natalia Kaczmarek) will receive PLN 150,000, a diamond, a plaque and a holiday voucher.
It is worth noting that prizes are also planned for the coaches. For gold it will be 100,000. PLN, for silver 75,000. PLN, and for bronze 50,000. PLN. All of them will also receive the diamonds, plaques and vacation vouchers mentioned above.
