There is still some time left until the premiere of the Apple iPhone 16 series of smartphones, but we have already learned some interesting information. For a long time, each generation of these smartphones was the same: we are dealing with four models, of which two cheaper devices have a system from the previous series, while the more expensive variants offer a more efficient processor. The new line may change this situation, as each model will have a system from the same series.

The information in question was discovered by Portal X user Nicolas Alvarez. He found a code that proves that all Apple iPhone 16 generation smartphones will have a processor from the same series, namely the Apple A18. This code contains identifiers for five smartphones: iPhone17.1, iPhone17.2, iPhone17.3, iPhone17.4, and iPhone17.5. It is possible that one of these devices will be the new Apple iPhone SE, but these are just guesses. So far, each generation of Apple smartphones has had an identifier related to the processor it contains. This is evident in the table below:

However, it is not known whether Apple will offer a slightly reduced version of the system in the two cheaper versions of the new smartphones – perhaps only in the more expensive versions it will offer a full-fledged flagship chip (like the Apple A18 Pro). However, there are several indications that this will be a single system that will be able to handle the Apple Intelligence services package (currently only the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max have the power to use it). We will find out all the information in September 2024, because that’s when the Apple iPhone 16 smartphones will be premiered.
