Law prohibiting trading on Sundays and holidays

The ban on trading on Sundays and holidays has been in effect in Poland since 2018. The law prohibits people working under an employment contract in all commercial enterprises from working on Sundays and public holidays. The prohibition on carrying out commercial activities does not apply to enterprises in which trade is carried out by a businessman who is a natural person only in his own person, in his own name and at his own expense. There are also establishments excluded from the ban, including: gas stations, cinemas, restaurants and sweets.

In the event of a trade ban being broken, the legislator has the right to fine the company, and in the event of repeated violations even with restricted freedom.
