ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 4000 – a new series of graphics cards announced which will be adapted to the SFF format

ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 4000 - a new series of graphics cards announced which will be adapted to the SFF formatNVIDIA has developed guidelines for graphics card manufacturers that will allow trouble-free use of desktop GPUs in SFF (Small Form Factor) designs. These are very compact computers, mainly aimed at people who have limited space. ASUS is one of the first entities to work on devices that comply with these guidelines. Prime GeForce RTX 4000 graphics cards will be available in the market soon.

ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 4000 is a new series of graphics cards that fully meets NVIDIA SFF-Ready standards. This means that it can be safely used in embedded computers.

The problem with the SFF sector so far has been the lack of any standardisation. As a result, there were relatively few desktop graphics card models available on the market that were suitable for use in this type of computer. In addition, manufacturers themselves rarely boast of such compatibility. GPUs marked with NVIDIA SFF-Ready will be fully compatible with the discussed standard. ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, Prime GeForce RTX 4070 and Prime GeForce RTX 4060 Ti are the first cards to hit the market under NVIDIA’s new program. The new GPUs are 269mm long and 50mm thick. In practice, this means that the chassis takes up 2.5 slots, which is a decent size for SFF computers. The whole thing is equipped with three fans that are turned off for tasks that don’t heavily load the system. The back panel of the card is well ventilated, which is important in embedded computers. The manufacturer decided on a design that is relatively pleasing to the eye, but don’t expect these cards to focus on aesthetics. These are very simple designs with a dominant black color and no LED backlighting.

The top-tier system in the series, the ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, will offer a standard 12GB of GDDR6X memory. The clock speed in normal mode will reach 2475 MHz, and in OC mode it will reach 2505 MHz. These values are not very different from the results of the Founders Edition model. However, this is not surprising, because the overclocking potential is very limited due to the small instances of the SFF format. You can also rely on standard 7168 CUDA cores and a 192-bit memory bus. Users will have three DisplayPort 1.4a connectors and an HDMI 2.1a connector at their disposal. Everything is powered by a single 16-pin connector, and the recommended power supply is 750W. Unfortunately, we do not yet know the prices of cards from this series.
