ASUS will replace defective motherboards
The manufacturer confirmed the problem – the official statement reads:
ASUS is committed to producing the highest quality products and we take every issue our customers report very seriously. We recently received a report of problems with the ROG Maximus Z690 Hero motherboard, we initially identified a possible problem with reverse memory capacitors in the manufacturing process on an assembly line that could lead to error code 53, problems starting the computer, or damaged motherboard components . A possible problem is with boards manufactured in 2021 with product number 90MB18E0-MVAAY0 with serial numbers starting with MA, MB, and MC.
How often does the error occur? ASUS has confirmed that there are several reports in North America as of December 28, 2021 (according to our information, the problem is most likely not related to motherboards sold in Europe). The manufacturer plans to conduct a more thorough examination of suppliers and customers to identify all defective panels and run a replacement program. on this page You can check the serial number if the disc is defective.
