In an interview with Allure, the 21-year-old singer-songwriter opened up about healing from past pain.

“I made it where it seems like it’s okay to find all the things that hurt you the most, because if you know those things, you can control those things. Once you know, you can heal. Then I’ll be invincible!” she explained.

The Ocean Eyes singer continued: “But what I’ve learned is… as time passes, I still have scars. You don’t have to be in pain to be pain free. I did it and I don’t want to do it again.

In a 2019 interview with Rolling Stone, the American singer revealed that she was depressed after injuring herself while dancing at the age of 13 and went into a “self-harming phase”.

“Basically, I felt like I deserved to suffer,” he explained at the time. It’s funny. When anyone else thinks of Billie Eilish at age 14, they think of all the good things that happened. But all I can think about is how unhappy I was. How completely helpless and lost I was. Between 13 and 16, it was very difficult.
