Blade Runner 2099 – The Amazon series has been officially created.  Ridley Scott on the team

Amazon orders “Blade Runner 2099”. Mane Jacinto will star in “The Acolyte” and “Avenue 5” is back with its second season this fall. Plus “Lost in Time” and more.

1. Amazon ordered the Blade Runner 2099 series

Amazon has released a limited edition “Blade Runner 2099” series, a sequel to the 2017 movie “Blade Runner 2049”. Nothing is known about the plot at the moment, except that – if you believe the title – the action will take place 50 years after the events of the movie. The presenter will be Silka Luisa (“Shining Girls”), and executive producers will include Ridley Scott, director of the original 1982 film “Blade Runner”, and Michael Green (“Blade Runner 2049”). Blade Runner 2099 will be the first drama series in the Blade Runner universe. [TVLine]

2. Mane Jacinto in The Helper series

Manny Jacinto (“Dobre Miejsce”) has joined the cast of “The Acolyte,” the Disney+ series from the Star Wars universe. Produced by Leslie Headland (“The Russian Doll”) is a thriller that takes us into a galaxy full of dark secrets and the dark side of the Force. The events will take place during the High Republic period, about 200 years before the events of the Star Saga. The cast is already in place with Amandla Stenberg (“Dear Evan Hansen”), Jodie Turner-Smith (“Anna Boleyn”), and Lee Jung-jae (“Squid Game”). [Deadline]

3. New Lost in Time Don Scott Bakula

Scott Bakula confirmed that we won’t see him in the remake of NBC’s “Lost in Time.” The actor wrote on Instagram that he had nothing to do with the series – neither in front of the camera, nor behind the camera. He also added that the decision not to participate in the project was very difficult for him, and he is clamping his fingers on the new team. The lead role in the new series, Raymond Lee (“Fuck Kevin”), is scheduled to premiere in the United States on September 19. [Deadline]

4. Wolf Pack – Rodrigo Santoro in the cast

Rodrigo Santoro (“Lost”) will play the park ranger and adoptive father of twins Luna (Chloe Rose Robertson) and Harlan (Tyler Lawrence Gray) in the new series “Wolfback.” Based on the books by Edo Van Belkom, the series will tell the story of two teens, Everett and Blake (Armani Jackson and Bella Shepard), who are forever changed when a California fire awakens a terrifying supernatural creature. The children injured in her attack are inexplicably drawn to each other and to the next teens – Luna and Harlan. The series is set to premiere later this year on Paramount+. [TVLine]

5. 5th Street – When is the season 2 premiere?

“Avenue 5” returns for its second season after a 2.5-year hiatus. HBO has released a trailer for new episodes of the space comedy starring Hugh Laurie, and we also know the release date – October 10. [IndieWire]

6. Timothy Olyphant on Team Full Circle

Timothy Olyphant (“Justified”) has joined the cast of “Full Circle,” the HBO limited series Max from director Steven Soderbergh (The Knick) and writer Ed Solomon (The Illusion films). In the six-episode series, we’ll see how an investigation into a botched kidnapping uncovers ancient secrets that connect many personalities and cultures in modern-day New York City. At the moment, there are no details about the character of Oliphant, but it is known that he will play alongside others. Claire Dance (“Home”) and Zazie Beetz (“Atlanta”). [Variety]

7. Leslie Odom Jr.. In the task series: Elementary

Leslie Odom Jr. (“Central Park”) will guest appear in Season 2 of Mission: Elementary as the owner of charter schools in the area who is visiting Abbott. Lauren Weedman (“Arrested Development”) and Keyla Monterroso Mejia (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) will also be featured in the new episodes. Season two will premiere in the United States on September 21. 8. Chad L. Coleman in the TV series Superman and Louis

Chad L. Coleman (“Orville”) joins the cast of Season 3 of “Superman and Louis” as Bruno Mannheim, DC’s comic book villain – the head of crime organization Intergang. [TVLine]

10. 1923 – Brandon Skllner in the cast of the series

Brandon Sklner (“Westworld”) joins the cast of “1923,” the prequel to “Yellowstone” as Spencer Dutton, nephew of Jacob Dutton (Harrison Ford) and brother of John Dutton Sr. (James Badge Dale), who witnessed the horrors of World War I. [Deadline]
