Cate Blanchett didn’t make money from ‘Lord of the Rings’
My treasure? Not necessarily! Cate Blanchett, who played Galadriel in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, has revealed that the role brought her no alleged benefits. Did Blanchett actually gain “anything” from her participation in three famous films?

Salary for the role of Galadriel? Not high

During his appearance on Watch What Happens Live Cate Blanchett was asked about her highest grossing films. Before giving her answer, the actress asked host Andy Cohen to guess. Probably “Lord of the Rings”“Cohen ventured,” he said.

Are you kidding me? No, no one was paid to appear in these videos.Blanchett replied, “Maybe that means no one got paid very much.” She added that she did not share in the profits.

I wanted to work with the director of “Brain Dead.”The actress explained.

Basically, I got free sandwiches and was allowed to keep my elf ears – which I was feeding myself.“It’s a very nice story,” the actress who plays Galadriel jokingly summed up. Women don’t get paid as much as you think.

Blanchett isn’t the only “Lord of the Rings” star to admit she didn’t make money from appearing in the trilogy. Last year, Orlando Bloom revealed in an interview that he was paid $175,000 to play Legolas in three films.

I have some comments: Listen to the podcast about the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
