CD Projekt RED announces new games from the Witcher universe. There will also be a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 and a new IP

CD Projekt RED has just announced far-reaching plans to develop The Witcher and Cyberpunk games. It turns out that Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion pack will be just the beginning, as the sequel codenamed Orion has been confirmed. Although at today’s meeting we expected any details about the next-gen release of The Witcher 3 (Q4 is finally starting, as this version will be released for the first time), we have instead received plans to develop the brand for the next 10 years, if not more.

CD Projekt RED will likely find its head in the clouds once again, as evidenced by today’s lofty announcements regarding the development of the Witcher and Cyberpunk brands. In addition, a new IP token called Hadar.

With the current pace of work on CD Projekt RED, we anticipate that the presented plan will be carried out for a few decades or so 😉 The studio has basically announced three projects related to the Wiedźmin brand. The game codenamed “Witcher Polaris” will enter a new trilogy, brought live by CD Projekt RED. The producer predicts (or at least such a plan was presented to us) that since the appearance of the “Witcher Polaris”, subsequent games from the new trilogy will appear on the market in a couple of years. Thus, 3 games will be available for sale within six years.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt sequel has an approximate release date. We will wait a little longer for the new version…

The second project – “Witcher Canis Majoris” will also be a large production from the universe, but at the same time not related to the trilogy prepared by CD Projekt RED. An outside studio, but familiar with the universe, will be commissioned to create this work. The third project is “Witcher Sirius”, a smaller production developed by the acquired studio The Molasses Flood. While the Polish branch of CD Projekt RED will focus on The Witcher, plans for the Cyberpunk brand go further. The continuation of the codename ‘Orion’ has been announced, demonstrating the full potential of this universe. The game will be developed in America – CD Projekt RED plans to open a branch in Boston, which will collaborate with CD Projekt RED Vancouver. A “CD Projekt RED North America” ​​entity will be created, with the overall goal of developing the aforementioned continuation of Cyberpunk 2077. In addition, there are plans for a new IP token called “Hadar”, also prepared by CD Projekt RED. All games will likely be created on Unreal Engine 5.
