The former ‘Tonight Show’ pilot took a break with staff at the Grossman Burn Center on Monday to reveal the extent of his injuries in the fire. The burn marks on his face and neck were particularly visible.
“I am pleased with Jay’s progress and am optimistic that he will make a full recovery,” his physician, Dr. Peter Grossman, said in a statement.
Jay Leno, who these days hosts a show about his garage and vintage car collection, suffered secondary injuries when a gasoline fire caught fire while working under one of his vehicles. He had to undergo two surgeries in addition to hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
“Jay wants to let everyone know how grateful he is for the care and healing options he received. He now plans to spend Thanksgiving with his family and friends,” the Grossman Burn Center said in a statement.
