What will the new “Ghostbusters” movie be about?

The “Legacy” sequel will take place in New York. A new generation of main characters will visit the legendary fire station, which was once the main headquarters for taming ghosts. The heroes will also have to survive in frigid conditions – all thanks to a supernatural invasion.

Jill Keenan directs (“Poltergeist”, “The Haunted House”, the series “Scream”). Jason Reitman, who directed The Inheritance, will serve as writer and producer this time around. We will also see the old actors again on screen. Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, McKenna Grace and Paul Rudd return. And also the star of the original The Busters, Bill Murray.

‘Ghostbusters’: More productions coming?

In the coming years we will see a flood of productions bearing the “Ghostbusters” banner. In addition to continuing to show “Ghostbusters: Legacy,” Sony is also preparing two animation projects: a movie and a series for Netflix. Reitman and Keenan will oversee the implementation of all projects.

“Ghostbusters: Legacy” was a sequel and remake of the popular series from the 1980s, and its heroine was a single mother who comes to a small town with her two children. Soon the woman discovers her father’s secret heritage and discovers that she has something in common with the supernatural experts.
