Sony may have a big problem with its online FPS. Concorde isn’t drawing crowds on Steam.
Concord is one of the PlayStation projects that fits into the new strategy of providing games as a service to the market. The production premiere is approaching, so Sony is working with Firewalk Studios to attract online gamers to play. However, it is not working out very well for them.
After setting up the beta testing phase for pre-order customers and the PS Plus community, Concord is entering the next phase. The open beta for the game began yesterday on PS5 and PC, during which we will try out 16 heroes, 3 modes, and 4 maps.
However, Concorde did not attract crowds from the first day of testing – according to the latest data, at the best moment, the game was checked by only 2388 Steam users. Currently, 875 people are playing this position.
Of course, the weekend has just begun, so we can count on more players on the servers, but we can’t talk about a satisfactory result for Sony at the moment. Some observers are openly talking about a “big failure” or “failure”, stressing that the Japanese giant should already draw conclusions at this point.
The first day of Concord’s open beta reached 2,388 concurrent players on Steam.

Firewalk Studios will begin production on August 23. The promotional campaign is still ongoing, but this low popularity on Valve’s platform may be a clear signal to the PlayStation manufacturer that the marketing department needs to shift to second gear and start aggressive advertising. The developers may only have time to make minor tweaks, not to completely change the gameplay assumptions…
We encourage you to read our impressions of the Concorde beta.
