The decision came after the Prime Minister met with experts from the Medical Council. “During today’s meeting, I thanked my advisors for their recommendation to extend the booster vaccination package,” the prime minister wrote on Facebook.
“The council discussed the fourth wave of COVID-19, the need to speed up the vaccination process and compulsory vaccinations for medical personnel. Ideas for new rules to secure hospital wards against transmission of the virus and planned investments in the Polish network of infectious hospitals” were also discussed.
Until now, vaccination with the third dose has been available to immunocompromised persons, people over 50 years of age, and medical personnel who have frequent contact with patients.
In early October, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) recommended that a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine be given by Pfizer or Moderna to people with severely weakened immune systems at least 28 days after the second dose. She also indicated that administration of an additional dose of the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine against COVID-19 is safe and effective. At the same time, it stipulated that the decision on administering a booster dose rests with the member states of the European Union.
The third dose is already given, among others in Germany, France, Spain, Denmark and Hungary. In Israel, it was announced that a fourth dose could be administered.

Dr. Konstanty Szodrazinski told PAP that the government would agree to the Medical Council’s recommendation to give a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. He added that during Wednesday’s conversation, the issue of the development of the epidemic and the increase in infections was also raised. The conclusion is that we must immediately start enforcing the applicable regulations in earnest.
– We can all see that it’s too bad. In my opinion, as well as other representatives of the Council, the current level of community immunity with the real application of these simple rules will allow us to control the epidemic. It is sure to limit the huge gains. Dr. Szułdrzyński said severe epidemiological restrictions should not be expected.
The Medical Council expert stated that “in Europe, no country can afford to shut down and such strict methods to combat this disease.” – Besides, everyone is already tired of this epidemic. It’s hard to predict that strict restrictions will work if regulations on wearing masks in enclosed spaces are not respected – he assesses.

Echo Richards embodies a personality that is a delightful contradiction: a humble musicaholic who never brags about her expansive knowledge of both classic and contemporary tunes. Infuriatingly modest, one would never know from a mere conversation how deeply entrenched she is in the world of music. This passion seamlessly translates into her problem-solving skills, with Echo often drawing inspiration from melodies and rhythms. A voracious reader, she dives deep into literature, using stories to influence her own hardcore writing. Her spirited advocacy for alcohol isn’t about mere indulgence, but about celebrating life’s poignant moments.
