Cracovia vs Gornik Zabrze show. Five goals and a red card.

In the previous five rounds, Cracow had scored two more points than Jan Orban’s players. Zabrze, in turn, visited Cracovia for the second time this season. They returned from the previous trip with a point in a 2-2 draw with Puszcza Niepołomice.

Cracovia wanted to continue after the promising results and at the beginning of the match they put pressure on the visitors. The first chance to score a goal fell to the onrushing Benjamin Kalman, but one of Gornik’s players managed to intervene.

Zabrze survived the opposition pressure and when they responded with their own attack they immediately turned the scoreline to 1-0. Damian Rasak was delighted after Henrich Ravas was beaten. The midfielder was in the right place at the right time in the 20th minute. After a short corner, Taufik Ismail sent a flat pass to Damian Razak who did not miss the chance to score.

Cracovia did not let their opponents enjoy the lead. Six minutes later the score was 1-1. Benjamin Kalman made a quick run down the left side of the pitch and confirmed his good form with a successful run. His pass turned into an assist thanks to a shot by Filip Rozga. He assisted Ricochet to beat Michal Šromnik.

The pace of the game picked up again, and Tawfik Ismail emerged as the most important player in the first half. He added a goal to the assist to make it 2-1 in the 33rd minute. After a good pass from deep, the winger had only Henrich Ravas in his sights. He managed to beat him and restore the lead to Górnik. He was also happy with his first goal in the PKO Ekstraklasa.

And again Cracovia had to chase the opponents. Already at the beginning of the second half, the ball was in Gornik’s goal, but Benjamin Kalman’s goal was disallowed for offside. Bassi spent a lot of time in Zabrze’s half, but Jakub Gugas’s subsequent goal was also disallowed for handball.

From the 57th minute, Cracovia’s task was theoretically easier because Rafał Janicki was sent off for a foul. Cracovia turned an 11-10 game into a 2-2 goal in the 74th minute. Ojden Hasic was useful to the team after coming off the bench. He scored a shot from near the penalty area after an exchange of passes. Michał Szromnik had no choice but to reach the ball for the second time.

Bassi got wind in his sails and went for another goal. It was the 78th minute and the Lesser Poland team were in front for the first time. Virgil Gita made the most of his good form at a set piece. He jumped over the Gornik defenders and fired the ball home to make it 3-2 after receiving a cross from a corner. The ball was helped by a connection with Manu Sanchez.

The visitors might have wanted to level the score, but after a second red card, this time for a foul by Krispin Szczesniak, it was almost impossible. Nine Gornik players remained on the pitch.
