Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty and its big Night City update are slowly making their way into the market, prompting one of CD Projekt RED’s lead developers to drop a message to players. The developer announced that simplified and large-scale production would exhaust computers.
There are only 14 days left until the release of Phantom Liberty, which will be preceded by a major update that will improve literally all elements and systems of the futuristic city. The studio mentions the “2.0” version of the game because, as announced, it will be the largest and most comprehensive package in the game’s history.
Filip Pierściński said that Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty and the 2.0 update will use all the CPU power, so before downloading the appropriate files, it is worth checking the condition of the computer’s cooling systems very carefully. A representative of CD Projekt encourages you to use the appropriate software, thanks to which we will find out whether we will discover new features in Night City without any inconvenience.
Before CP2077 2.0 and PL [Phantom Liberty – przyp. red.] You should check the condition of your computer’s cooling systems. We’re using everything you have, so an 8-core CPU load is expected to reach 90%. To save time, run Cinebench or similar software and check the stability of your systems 😉

Pierściński added a classic Scooter song titled “Fire” to the entry, which is probably intended to illustrate the state of the PC following the release of the patch and expansion for Cyberpunk 2077.
At the end of the month, CD Projekt RED will effectively end active development of Cyberpunk 2077, as developers will focus on the next adventure in this universe and subsequent projects. The community can still count on the necessary repairs, but the studio will devote more and more time to new projects.
