Czech passengers chose the name Pesa Polish Trains

Czech railway passengers have decided that the trains produced by Pesa Bydgoszcz will be called RegioFox, Piotr Mazurek, an expert on strategic projects and communications at the plant, told Wednesday.

Currently, the vehicles are being tested at the test track in Willem in the Czech Republic and at the climatic chamber in Austria.

76 RegioFoxes

The Czech Railways has already ordered 76 RegioFox. The trains are powered by environmentally friendly Rolls-Royce engines, which, in addition to conventional diesel, can be powered by HVO biofuel.

The modern multiplex features a spacious interior with 115 seats, including nine in First Class. It is equipped, among other things: air conditioning, 220 volt and USB sockets for charging mobile devices, Wi-Fi, vacuum toilet with changing table, indoor and outdoor LED lighting, modern passenger information system with screens, monitoring and communication systems.

The vehicles accommodate eight bicycles, three strollers, and two wheelchairs. RegioFoxy, which meets the latest European ETCS standards, can move at a maximum speed of 120km/h.

The name was chosen by the passengers.

“The fox is a fast and intelligent animal and I am pleased that RegioFox will offer passengers many smart solutions and maximum comfort. The new name was chosen by our passengers in a survey on social networks. We have already ordered 76 such units. It is confirmed by Michel Krabenek, President and CEO of the railways czech, quoted in dubbed.

The observed operation and ride-hailing with passengers is scheduled to start in the second half of the year, Krapinec’s president added.

The first vehicles will hit the tracks in Prague and the regions of Central and South Bohemia. Other RegioFoxes will carry passengers in the regions of Pardubice, Hradec Kralove, Plzeň and Vysocina.
