Deadlock is a new game from Valve. Portal and Half-Life fans may be disappointed as the title will be an online shooter

For some time now, there have been rumors online that game producer Valve is working on another title. Of course, this is nothing new, as the continuation of the Half-Life or Portal series has been awaited for many years and we have often heard rumors that the third part will be released in one of these universes. But this time, we have concrete proof that a new game called Deadlock is coming soon.

Deadlock is the next game from Valve, which is currently in the testing phase. We are dealing with an online shooter that will allow battles with 12 people on one map. The production will reference the look of characters from Dota 2, but will also include mechanics from Valorant and other games.

Counter-Strike 2 – the first official trailer of the successor to the popular FPS game. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is disappearing from Steam

Fans of the aforementioned series may be disappointed, because they may have to wait a long time for the next parts of their favorite games (except for the wonderful Half-Life: Alyx). Valve is once again focusing on online production, from which the company will likely make significant profits. Previous rumors suggested the game in question would be called Neon Prime or Citadel – and now we know it’s Deadlock. The title will be similar in terms of gameplay to Valorant – the third-person view will be complemented by a Steampunk-style map, which will allow you to confront opponents from the enemy team (6 people each). Characters will allow us to use their unique skills as well as optional items.

Valve is working on many new games. Half-Life hasn’t said the last word either

The production will also include mechanics from tower defense games, and the atmosphere itself will be closely related to the fantasy genre – along the way we will meet “witches, strange creatures and robots.” The gameplay is also supposed to be very dynamic and in this regard it is related to the games: “Dota 2, Team Fortress 2, Overwatch, Valorant, Smite, Orcs Must Die”. The character’s appearance is supposed to refer to the first character. Also worth noting is the ability to move quickly using rails placed along the lines of the map. Currently, testers have shared screenshots showing parts of the game. So Valve is clearly keeping up with the times, after all, online shooters are currently the most popular. The entire available description indicates that the game will offer many interesting mechanics, but we will have to wait for the production release.
