Janusz Połe died at the age of 84. Classified as a Senior International Expert by the Polish Sports Bridge Association. In addition, he was editor-in-chief of Ursynów’s weekly newspaper “Nasza Metropolia”.
In addition, he participated in the activities of the Warsaw Sports Bridge Association. In 2011, PZBS awarded him a gold badge.
In 1978, together with Marian Frenkel, Andrzej Macyczak and Andrzej Wilczak, he won the unofficial world championship in the team. It happened during a tournament in New Orleans, USA. During last year’s World Bridge Championships, which were held in Wroclaw, many years later he was awarded a symbolic trophy for this success.
Połe has also been active in journalism for several years. First, he was active in the weekly newspaper “Pasmo”, then he held the position of editor-in-chief of the Ursynów weekly newspaper “Nasza Metropolia”.
He was one of the founders of the Ursynów-Natolin Social and Cultural Association. He also served as a councilor in Ursynów and in the capital.
Maciej Petrosenko, editor-in-chief of Przegląd Sportowy, was informed of his death.
