Former US President Donald Trump is on his way to Atlanta, Georgia, where he will turn himself in to authorities and face charges over his work to overturn the 2020 presidential election in the state. CNN stressed that Trump is expected to be quickly released from the Fulton County Jail after posting a $200,000 bail.
Last Monday, investigators in Fulton County, Georgia, charged Donald Trump with 13 counts, the most important of which was participation in a criminal group whose aim was to illegally annul the results of the 2020 elections in that state. He faces 18 other charges, including his former lawyer Rudy Giuliani and White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. Several of the defendants, including Giuliani and Meadows, have already turned themselves in to Georgia authorities.

“I must prepare to travel to Atlanta, Georgia, where murder and other violent crime has reached unprecedented levels, to be arrested by far-left Attorney General Fannie Willis,” Trump said on his website, TruthSocial.
CNN stressed that Trump is expected to be released soon. His lawyers negotiated $200,000 bail with authorities, and the former president refrained from intimidating witnesses and co-defendants, including through social media.
