A few weeks after his next album was announced, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace)The rapper published an announcement in a Detroit newspaper paying tribute to his alter ego’s life in the “underground rap scene of the mid-to-late 1990s.”
It reads: “Shady became a household name in 1999 with the release of his playful and chaotic single. my name, with its unique and spectacular video, exposed the young artist and his lyrics to a wider audience. These audiences were quickly exposed to the artist’s intense darkness, which led millions of music fans down a path of glorification of a starkly nihilistic worldview. »
The post featured a photo of Eminem wearing a pair of overalls and a white hockey mask, with the caption “Fans will never forget the controversial rapper.”
The star announced the album in a video featuring 50 Cent describing Slim Shady as a psychopath. Eminem later says, “I know it’s just a period for Slim.” He also released an image believed to be the album cover, depicting a figure with a stab wound to the chest.
Eminem’s 12th album is expected to be released later this year. His latest album, Music to kill forPublished in 2020.
