The Daily Mail journalists, citing sources from Germany, said that Erling Haaland will be Manchester City’s player in the new season. The terms of his contract were on the verge of agreement and the citizens’ authorities agreed to the amount of the transfer. The England champions are set to pay Borussia Dortmund £63m, as that is the 21-year-old’s condition.
Altogether, including the transfer cost, the bonus for player and agent Mino Raioli, Manchester City will spend around £100m. According to journalists, Pep Guardiola agreed to such a cost, because the purchase of the striker is one of his priorities.
Alf Inge Haaland, Erling’s father, has played Man City in the past. In the years 2000-2003 he played in 43 matches for this club. British media say the Norwegian family is still linked to the current English champion, which influenced the 21-year-old’s decision.
There were also Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in the Norway match, but these trends were less attractive to Haaland.
Erling Haaland is one of the best strikers of the younger generation. In 79 matches with Borussia, Dortmund scored up to 80 goals, and throughout his career, he scored 149 goals in 190 matches.
