For the second consecutive season, Barcelona could not reach the finals of the Champions League 1/8 and “regressed” to the lowest rank in the competition. In the previous version, she was eliminated in the LE quarter-finals, losing on aggregate to the subsequent winner – Eintracht Frankfurt.

This time, it was unlucky in the draw as it landed on 2021 finalist Manchester United, who finished second with 15 points in the LE group, behind Real Sociedad San Sebastian, who was determined by one more goal conceded in six matches.

“The Red Diabły” was certainly the highest-ranked team among the teams “The Pride of Catalonia” could face.

Juventus Turin will also continue the cup fight in Egyptian pounds. The fate of Wojciech Szczęsny and Arkadiusz Milik was much kinder and they will play for French club Nantes. Roma team Nikola Zalowski was also lucky, in front of the whole team of Petkowski Salzburg.

Shakhtar Donetsk, who played against two Champions League rivals at the Legia Stadium in Warsaw, found a match from France, Stade Rennes.

The eight group winners of the Europa League are confident of their performance in the 1/8 finals. These are Ferencvaros Budapest, SC Freiburg, Feyenoord Rotterdam, and its players Sebastian Szymanski, Real Sociedad San Sebastian, Betis Seville, Royal Union Saint. Gelois, Arsenal and Fenerbahce, Istanbul.

The results of the European League 1/16 final draw:
