Few expected the Europa League semi-final rematch to be so exciting. In Leverkusen, Roma compensated for its loss in the first match. In the end, Bayer scored two goals and entered the final match (2:2).
The Europa League final seemed within reach of the new German champion. Bayer, unbeaten for almost a year, won away to Roma 2-0 in the first match.
In Leverkusen, Roma tried to attack at first, but the locals quickly organized the game from the back and were able to strike a powerful blow in the 16th minute. Josip Stanisic tricked his opponent inside the penalty area and scored the equalizer with a shot from seven metres. Leverkusen, still undefeated, has reached the Europa League final!
