EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti KINGPIN – The graphics card will receive 12-pin power connectors. Isn’t that an exaggeration?

KINGPIN series EVGI graphics cards (or rather K | NGP | N) are definitely not intended for laymen – these are modules designed specifically for enthusiasts who do not take into account the price or power consumption of such systems. For these cards, performance and overclocking capabilities are critical. Given the fact that Ampere’s new flagship chip, GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, will debut soon, we’re expecting a new member of the top EVGI series. This is said to be in the works, as evidenced by a recent leak. The first information about its specifications has already appeared and it seems that a real graphic monster is coming …

In theory, an EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti KINGPIN graphics card with 12-pin power connectors will be able to use up to 1275 watts of power. Will anyone be able to use this potential?

According to the latest news, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti KINGPIN graphics card will have two 12-pin power connectors. It is a new standard that complies with the PCIe 5.0 interface, which consists of twelve regular pins and four optional data paths. We don’t yet know the name of this solution, but there’s a good chance it’s fully compatible with the 12-pin NVIDIA (Molex Microfit 3.0) connector used in current Ampere graphics cards.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti will get high-quality GDDR6X memory from Micron. The design will be shown for the first time in January

The dual 12-pin power connector means that, in theory, the new EVGI graphics card will be able to use up to 1,275 watts of power. For comparison, the 3x 8-pin configuration often found on high-end systems means the card will draw a maximum of 525W. This perhaps best illustrates the beast RTX 3090 Ti KINGPIN that it promises, although of course it is difficult to do so. Imagine that someone would make full use of such capabilities … In addition, it is said that the current Hydro Copper water blocks for the RTX 3090 KINGPIN will not be compatible with the new model, and the product is generally expected to be more expensive than the model without the Ti brand (which In turn it is deducted). So it promises that the premiere will be fun. We hope to see the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti showcased at CES 2022.
