Expensive police cars for the Lubuskie Police. They will work with electricity

Police officers from Lubuskie Voivodeship have been using police cars with electric motors in their daily service for over a year. In September 2021, the headquarters in Zielona Góra and Gorzów Wielkopolski received one Kia e-Niro each.

On Friday (December 23), four more electric police cars were added to the Lubuskie police fleet – this time Hyundai Kona EVs, which were purchased thanks to funding from the Regional Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Zielona Góra. These police cars were handed over to police officers from Gorzow Wielkopolski, Nowa Sol, Strzelsie Kraczynski and Wojciech.

The press release emphasized that the main advantage of the new police cars is their contribution to reducing pollutant emissions and reducing greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. The possibility of entering the so-called green zones will also be important.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Interior and Administration insists that the purchase of Autocasco policies for cars used by its regular formations is “economically unjustified”. This information was provided in response to a question from MP Hanna Gil-Petek regarding the incident that occurred in Lodz in 2020. The policewoman was then fined and charged with the cost of repairing the police car she damaged while performing her official duties.

In connection with the above, some police officers decide to purchase additional insurance, which relieves them of the responsibility for repairing a vehicle that was damaged during work. In the case of electric cars, this can be particularly important, because if the batteries are damaged during a collision, replacing them can mean significant expenses. It remains to be hoped that the officers from Gorzow Wielkopolski, Nowa Sol, Strzelsey Kraczynski, and Shufa will not be afraid to use the full potential of their new work tools.
