The Danish Ministry of Defense announced that 19 F-16 fighters will be delivered to Ukraine in the second quarter of 2024. The transfer will take place after the completion of training for Ukrainian pilots.

The ministry explained, “The goal is primarily to complete the training of Ukrainian personnel who will fly the aircraft.”

F-16 for Ukraine
Denmark, which is replacing its fleet of F-16s with more modern F-35s, announced in August that it would donate 19 aircraft after receiving approval from the US government – reports the Kyiv Post.

The Netherlands also announced F-16 transfers to Ukraine last August and is currently training Ukrainian pilots, but has not yet announced when the 42 aircraft will arrive in Ukraine.
In his New Year message, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukrainian pilots are ready to fly F-16 aircraft, which should enter service this year.
Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Denmark's aid to Ukraine has totaled €2.2 billion.
