According to the list published by the streaming platform “Netflix”, the romantic comedy “A Family Matter” has recently become one of the undisputed hits. The film became available to viewers on June 28, and in just three days, it not only reached the top ten most-watched in 92 countries, but also took the first place in the TOP 10 category on Netflix.
Family Affair is a romantic comedy film directed by Richard LaGravenese, writer of “Fisher King” and “What Happened in Madison County” and director of films such as “Freedom of Speech” and “P.S. I Love You”. It stars Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron.
As you can read on Netflix, the film tells the story of three people: Zara, played by Joey King, and Chris and Brooke, played by Efron and Kidman. But it’s not the comedy’s popularity that has generated so many comments and discussions, but its quality. The initial enthusiasm seems to have been driven primarily by the curiosity of viewers, who were counting on good performances from well-known and well-known stars. Similar opinions and comments dominate viewers. On the Rotten Tomatoes website, which collects movie reviews, “A Family Affair” received a rating of 41% on a scale of 0 to 100. From reviewers, it received only 29% approval from viewers. In addition to accusations of poor storyline and acting, netizens also emphasize their appearance. Many people point to the actors’ artificiality, which can be seen with the naked eye, and whose faces, modified with a scalpel, look more like wax figures than people.
Polish reviewers also leave no stone unturned in the comedy. “Brock and Chris don’t have much in common throughout the film, and the casting doesn’t make this fiery romance easy to believe,” wrote Daria Sienkiewicz on Filmweb.pl.
