Sebastian Szymanski’s successful performance in a Fenerbahce shirt led to great sympathy from his fans for the Pole. In an interview with “Przegląd Sportowy Onet”, his agent Mariusz Piekarski talked about this.
Sebastian Szymanski joined Fenerbahce in the summer for just under €10 million from Dynamo Moscow after a successful season spent on loan at Feyenoord. The Pole looks very good in the new club shirt. In 16 matches so far, he has scored eight goals and provided four assists.
The attacking midfielder’s play won applause from the lively Bosphorus crowd.
– They’re crazy about him. So much so that when I recently visited him in Istanbul, I chartered a yacht so we could talk in peace. It will be impossible to sit in the restaurant. Even Galatasaray fans take pictures with him – said Mariusz Piekarski in an interview with “Przegląd Sportowy Onet”.
The agent confirmed that Galatasaray were also interested in Szymanski in the summer.
-I think when it comes to our club choices so far, each one has been a huge success. Sebastian has a strong belief in his skills and is not afraid of competition at all. That’s why he always had a place in the starting lineup – added the 48-year-old (full here).
Fenerbahce occupies first place in the Turkish league standings with 24 points in eight matches.
