In the 1/16 Copa del Rey final match, FC Barcelona players controlled everything for a long period. In the end, the Spanish champions won only 3-2. Robert Lewandowski scored a goal from a penalty kick in the end.
In their first match in the Copa del Rey, FC Barcelona faced a theoretically easy opponent. The competitor in the 1/16 finals, Barbastro, competes in the fourth level of the competition, where he is in the middle of the group. He won his last two league matches.
Xavi rested several key players during the match, and several other players were also absent from the match squad. Robert Lewandowski sat on the bench. He finally got on the field.
The Spanish champions did not underestimate their opponent and attacked from the beginning. The locals had difficulty reaching Inaki Pena's goal and could not even dream of shooting.

As the visitors advanced, they took control of the match and should have decided the fate of the final 1/16 in the first half. In the 42nd minute, Joao Felix headed the ball into the net. The referee blew his whistle for offside. Replays showed he was wrong. The locals threatened Barcelona once when Gavito's shot went wide in the 33rd minute.
After changing sides, the visitors needed six minutes to extend their lead. In the 51st minute, Hector Forte played wisely inside the penalty area, and Raphinha closed the ball with a shot into the goal from an acute angle.
An hour later, unexpectedly, the hosts scored the goal. After sending a cross into the penalty area, Jaime accidentally played with his hand, and the ball fell in front, so De Mesa Garrido Pena shot from close range.
The angry Barcelona created several opportunities to score the third goal, but the visitors did not succeed in scoring. In the 71st minute, Lewandowski appeared on the field.
In the end, Barbastro's players felt that they were able to go into extra time in search of an opportunity to equalize. In the 79th minute, Israel Garcia scored with a header from seven metres.
It backfired. In the 87th minute, the referee awarded a penalty kick to Barcelona due to a handball by a defender. Robert Lewandowski confidently hit the net from eleven metres.
Local residents rose up again. In extra time, Lopez fouled the opponent inside the penalty area, and Mark Pratt confidently executed the penalty kick. They couldn't take any more League 4 players. The Spanish champion qualifies for the next round of the King's Cup.
