Everton thrillingly beat Chelsea 1-0 in a Premier League match on Sunday. And in another match, Tottenham dealt smoothly with Leicester City.
Led by Chelsea legend Frank Lampard and a desperate struggle to stay in the league, Everton scored three very valuable points against the club’s world champions. The defining moment of the match at Goodison Park came at the start of the second half. Then Richarlison took advantage of Cesar Azpilicueta’s blunder.
Chelsea finished third in the league table and had a huge advantage in most of the day’s games. The Londoners came closest to equalizing soon after conceding a goal. After Mason Mount’s shot, the ball bounced off the post. On the other hand, Jordan Pickford defended Azpilicueta’s exceptional style.
Despite the unexpected win, Everton are steadily opening up the relegation zone in the Premier League table. However, Lampard’s side is now no more than two points behind the streak bypassing Leeds United and Burnley. What’s more, the Merseyside team has one more game to play than its direct competitors in the battle to stay in the elite.

In a parallel match, Tottenham confidently beat Leicester City 3-1 and climbed to fourth place in the Premier League table at least temporarily.
Antonio Conte’s team advanced in front of his fans in the 22nd minute of the match, when he hit Sona’s cross from a corner kick headed by Harry Kane.
Then Spurs raised their lead shortly after the second half. This time, Son himself entered the list of shooters after catching up with reserve rank, Dejan Kulusevski. In the last quarter of the match, the Korean, who is in good shape, scored the third goal this afternoon for his team, displaying a beautiful shot from outside the penalty area.
Kelechi Iheanacho scored an honorable goal for Leicester in overtime.
Spurs’ smooth win puts pressure on the competition to advance to next year’s Arsenal Champions League ahead of today’s London derby against West Ham. Arsenal will not return to fourth place unless they win at the London Stadium.
Meanwhile, Leicester is 11th in the league table. Brendan Rodgers’ team will play next Thursday in the European Conference League semi-final second leg, away from Rome. In the first match, the score was 1: 1.
