This year marks 10 years since Porsche's “small” SUV went on sale. The Macan debuted in 2014 as the Cayenne's smaller, smaller sibling. It quickly became a bestseller, and although a decade has passed, it has not undergone radical changes. The second generation will be sold with an electric motor only from 2024.

Porsche's best-selling car will disappear from the European Union

Although in other markets by 2026 it will be possible to buy an electric car and the first generation in the combustion version at the same time, this will not be the case in the European Union. The reason the Macan market is “death” is not emission standards, but… cybersecurity regulations.

Porsche Macan T. “Slowest Porsche”

The T is the “touring” version of the Porsche Macan, i.e. a weaker engine with an improved suspension. Under the hood is a 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates 265 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 6.4 seconds and the top speed is 232 km/h. like “Slowest Porsche” And it's still good.

The T version is for someone who doesn't care much about speed and acceleration, but is more interested in superior comfort, an SUV and owning a car of this brand. Because there can be no doubt that we are dealing with a real Porsche. The silhouette of the Porsche Macan is instantly recognisable, and at the same time it does not look like an “inflated” 911.

The premium finish can be seen immediately inside. Meaty seats with the brand logo embossed on the headrests, nice-touch leather, and typical Porsche details. There's also a 'switch' in place of the start/stop button, and an analogue clock in the middle of the dash. In front of the driver are two analog clocks and a display, as well as one not-so-large screen in the center of the dashboard.

Two facelifts stopped the passage of time for a bit. Even the many physical buttons with access to different functions have not disappeared, although they have taken on a more subtle shape. For new Porsche models, we have a whole panel around the automatic lever, where we can control many settings using touch (without touch), without having to access the menu on the touchscreen. There are also physical handles.

How to drive a Porsche Macan T?

Although this is the “slowest Porsche” Macan, its driving dynamics are undeniable. The Start&Stop system prevents you from stopping suddenly at a traffic light, but this isn't a car designed for 'speed'. 265 hp and 400 Nm are enough values ​​to overcome winding roads.

In urban conditions, fuel consumption is around 11-12 l/100 km, although higher values ​​can be expected in traffic jams. The fuel tank will hold 65 liters of petrol, which, even with the increased fuel consumption, will provide a really decent range in a single tank.

How much does the Porsche Macan T cost?

The value of the Porsche Macan T tested was 300 thousand PLN. PLN at catalog prices, that is, about 21 thousand PLN more than the cheapest basic Macan. It will be more expensive in 2024.
